The Independent Life Center (ILC) was founded in 1998
to meet the needs of individuals with disabilities living in Northwest
Colorado. Prior to its founding
by a group of people with disabilities, services were few and far between as
there was no center for independent living able to provide consistent
outreach and services in this area.
ILC was founded to provide the four core services of Independent
Living (advocacy both systemic and individual, peer support, independent
living skills training and information and referral).
Today we provide the four core services and assist people with
disabilities to find appropriate and accessible housing in the community of
their choice and to provide transportation services that support people with
disabilities. ILC serves five
counties in Northwest Colorado:
Moffat, Routt, Rio Blanco, Summit and Grand Counties.
